Increased Productivity of Body Repair and Painting Workshop Using Utilization of Paintless Dent Removal Technology

One of the development of special service tools in the automotive industry is the Paint less dent removal tools. This tool greatly facilitates the work of repairing the automotive body by shortening the time, cost and repair materials but not many people know and are able to operate this tool properly. The purpose of this community service activity is to solve the problems faced by the repair work of the Selamet Autobody Body Workshop. There are two aspects of the problem to be addressed, namely aspects of body repair procedures, and work completion productivity.

            The implementation method uses several methods that support each other, including lectures to deliver theoretical and motivational material, demonstrations to deliver skills material, direct practice by partners, and mentoring activities. the implementation team involved the lecturers in the field of expertise in accordance with the needs of the field.

            Based on the results of the implementation of the community service, it can be concluded that the use of an PDR tool is effective for repairing a car body that has been dented without damage to the car body paint, and can increase the effectiveness of partner work. Improvements using the PDR technique can increase partner income because the consumables material used in the repair are only glue sticks and alcohol with a profit difference of 61.4%.
